The Greatest Day of Our Lives
For Christians the greatest day of our lives occurred over 2,000 years ago. For it was then the son of God, Jesus Christ, laid down his life for us. Then three days later as promised he rose from the dead.
When thinking about the time that Jesus spent on earth, we marvel at the fact that he did not succumb to man’s world and honored his father. He had 33 years to stray. He never did.
And when the time came to be crucified, Jesus went to the cross. He knew that he was being persecuted for nothing but did it anyway. Because of this all of us who ask and believe receive salvation and life everlasting.
Though every person on the face of the earth has a sinful nature so many have felt it right to do what is right no matter what others may think. When this occurs, we are often looked at as being overly righteous. In some cases, people feel like we are being judgmental of them and their actions. All we are trying to do is the right thing.
Jesus knew when he came to earth everything that would happen to him. He knew his father’s plan and that it had to be fulfilled. He trusted his father to guide him throughout.
America has only existed for 249 years. In this time many have come to Jesus for salvation. This has occurred in cities and towns. North, south, east and west. In poor neighborhoods and rich. Some have found salvation early in life. Some later. But the numbers are in the millions, maybe more.
Thank God that we have the freedom to choose who our lord and savior is. Many countries do not have this right. In those countries many have sacrificed their lives to receive salvation and bring others to Jesus.
But the temptations are always there. In this country of so many diverse personalities not everyone is going to lead a sinless life. In fact, none of us will. Whether we are saved or not. All of us are humans. ALL fall short of the mark.
However, those of us who wish to be covered give our lives to Jesus as the light and the way. This way when we stray, we can ask for forgiveness and repent for our sins. And we are always given the chance to redeem ourselves through good works.
And it is all because of that day over 2,000 years ago when Jesus honored his promise to die for all of the sins of humankind while we were sinners.
For those of us who have become his children it is the greatest day of our lives.
It can be for everyone who asks and believes.
